He worked at building his skills until he knew each one fluently. My friend Noaf was kind enough to share these never-been-seen final shots and some behind the scenes of the shoot. The kind of beauty that gets admiring gazes, setting hearts a flutter.

Nevertheless, the language and customs of the Cajun people are as deeply rooted here as anywhere in the state. Music came to Bruce at an early age, and in the most traditional manner—handed down from father to son. When he was growing up, no family gathering was complete without a little playing and singing. When Bruce turned five, his father presented him with a guitar, and by the age of ten he was also bearing down on a five-string banjo. It was in 1978, after attending the annual Festival Acadiens in Lafayette, that Bruce was inspired to devote himself to the French accordion. By 1980 he had his own Cajun band, and was honing his skills at regular Thursday-night fais do do dances at the Maple Leaf Bar. Over the next six years, Bruce Daigrepont almost single-handedly popularized Cajun music and Cajun dancing in cosmopolitan New Orleans. He learned everything he could so that he could incorporate the culture in all areas of his life — the traditions, the food, and most importantly, the music. At the early age of 10, he picked up shows playing drums for Houston-based band Wilbert Thibodeaux and the Zydeco Rascals and slowly learned the main instrument of the music — the accordion. He came to truly love any type of accordion — the single-note, triple-note and piano key accordions — and any others. He worked at building his skills until he knew each one fluently. In these times when folk music has meant rigidly sticking to a cliched format or collecting hackneyed stylistic features, the klezmer all stars have attempted to challenge and stretch boundaries…but without sacrificing the most exciting features of social music; driving rhythms, passion, and clear melodies that are sublime but remain memorable. His father often took him to gigs where Cameron would always be on stage strumming a guitar, banging on spoons, or any thing he could get his hands on. Rick was not eager, since the accordion was used to record a Grammy winning album by Jimmy Breaux, but he decided to let him play it. He was instantly hooked on the accordion. Cameron, the seven-time Cajun accordion contest winner, has now established himself as a favorite among many Cajun music fans in Louisiana. The Cajun Troubadours debut album is set to be released at the end of 2018. With Cameron Dupuy and his father Michael Dupuy, The Cajun Troubadours bring a fresh, new approach to Louisiana standards and rarities. That was the moment the young Sansone knew he was destined to play the blues as his lifetime vocation. He sat in with Honeyboy Edwards at 13. During the 1970s Sansone studied with blues harmonica legends James Cotton and Jr. In the 1980s he toured with Ronnie Earl, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Rodgers and Robert Lockwood Jr. As true to the spirit of the music, the G String Orchestra has traveled far and wide in an array of diverse modes of transport as colorful as the tunes themselves. Instrumentation includes accordion, violin, upright bass, drum, and vocals. Born in Baltimore, she moved to New Orleans where she was educated musically through performance and collaboration with many great local musicians. Ashlae has toured and traveled across North America and Europe, delighting audiences with her bold and enthusiastic charm. He has performed extensively throughout the United States, South America and Europe. Ward-Bergeman has performed as a soloist alongside Yo-Yo Ma, Dawn Upshaw, and many of the major orchestras of the United States. He has been featured on the soundtracks to major motion pictures by Francis Ford Coppola and Niki Caro. Most recently, his arrangement and performance of St. James Infirmary with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble appeared on their 2016 Grammy award winning album, Sing Me Home. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music.
